The roses were drawn on to fit for Mr. Mike, the 13 sailor cat is on Spencer who has quite a nice collection of tats from the likes of Bryan Turnbull, Chris David, Glennie Whittall, Chad Koeplinger, etc. and the Tiger and Skull Moth are on the lovely and very sweet Brionie. The skull and make-up brushes was a walk-in tat. Enjoy.

Posted in Uncategorized on 13/01/2012 by handsomemikebialekDespite the sadness I feel over the passing of our friend, when I think of Jamer I can’t help but smile. Remembering his arrivals in Toronto, doing the Jamer-strut into our apartment, a Dunhill hanging out of his mouth, with a backpack full of dirty laundry and a pair of tattoo machines in the chest pockets of his soiled jean jacket, I think about how one of a kind he was. And more importantly, how lucky we all are for having known him. The realization that he was the embodiment of what is awesome about the cultures that we knew him from, be it skateboarding, punk rock or tattooing, underlines the impact he made on all of us. Nobody understood the importance of realness better than Jamer and he proved it time and again. And made sure all of us knew that it mattered. Sometimes with subtlety, sometimes with a brick. His passion for the things he cared about was inspiring to so many people that I doubt he ever understood how much he brought to the table. His intuitive understanding of what made things cool is evidenced by the hundreds of Jamer-isms you can hear in tattoo shops across the country, which is maybe a greater achievement than the thousands of rad Jamer tattoos walking around. I will forever be grateful for the encouragement and support he gave me early on in my tattooing. Having me out to work at Government Street meant the world to me. Having Jamer in my corner gave me the confidence to do much more than I thought I could. And I know that is true for many of us.
Rest In Peace Jamer. You will be sorely missed.
